Flavia Casà is a London-based Writer/Director and NYU Tisch graduate whose work explores motherhood, cultural identity and the ties that bind generations.
Beyond formal training, Flavia was mentored by auteurs including Noah Baumbach, Cédric Klapisch and cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki.
Her debut bilingual feature, Beautiful in the Morning, premiered at LA Femme International Film Festival and went on to screen internationally. An early draft placed in the top 20% of the Academy Nicholl Fellowship.
Flavia is currently developing original film and television projects, including Inner Life, a feature screenplay that was selected for the Athena Writers Lab.
Her command of the narrative form expands to the next generation: she has taught screenwriting at the University of Warwick and filmmaking at Birkbeck, where students have praised her collaborative approach and the supportive environment she creates for sharing work and developing confidence. She's led workshops in schools and mentored youth from underrepresented backgrounds.
For Flavia, mastering the craft of narrative shouldn't be contained to the classroom. And writing doesn't have to be a solitary pursuit. Script Salon grew from her belief that the best stories are shaped in conversation.
Infused in Mediterranean heritage, Script Salon is a space where writers and filmmakers gather to exchange ideas, challenge one another, and refine their craft - around the table, often over an aperitivo.

Where is the Salon?
Located right by Kentish Town station (Northern, Thameslink, Mildmay),
our sessions run in the loft of WildISEarth, a kombucha microbrewery & event space.
Who are these classes for?
These workshops are intended for writers with a basic understanding of fiction, but no formal screenwriting experience is necessary. It is recommended that upon signing up, you provide us with an excerpt of the work you'd like to discuss in the class, or a paragraph explaining your script's premise.
To get the most out of the workshop, we encourage you to participate by putting forward your own writing or ideas, though this is not required. The important thing is that you show up with the intent of contributing to open discussions, learning by practicing, and actively supporting others.
What will we cover?
Every workshop has a different theme, so you're welcome to join multiple sessions or drop in at any time. If the theme is character development that week, we will of course explore other storytelling devices like plot or dialogue, because topics overlap.
Whatever your screenwriting challenge is at the moment (perhaps you need to establish a character want at the start of the script, or your subplot takes up too many pages), we invite you to address it through the lens of the week's theme.
What do I need to bring?
Bring a notebook or a laptop, and please be aware that we may watch clips containing sensitive content in class. Please speak to us beforehand if there is any material we should avoid. Thank you!
